My Background
I spent 20 years in Linde’s Engineering Division with responsibilities for Process Design, Systems Engineering, Commissioning & Start-up, Product Management, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Process Automation, and IT developing solutions to enable automatic and remote plant operation
2010 I moved to Operations to develop Linde’s Remote Operations Strategy and design & implement the IT/OT infrastructure for data driven remote operations of 1000 Linde process plants across 100 countries. This included the implementation of a global Historian System that collects 150,000 data points from 1000 plants every minute.
As Regional Operations Director for ASEAN & South Asia and Head of Operations & Technology for Asia Pacific based in Singapore, I transformed Linde’s operation from local operations with different work processes for each plant towards centralized Remote Operations where 10 operators in a central control room in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia run 100+ process plants across 15 countries. Procedural Automation provides a one button automatic start-up for the plants. Advanced Automation moves plant load or adapts to different feeds. Real Time Optimizers determine the most profitable production mode for the plants and Process Digital Twins monitor process safety, equipment health and plant efficiency.
After 8 years in Operations I moved back to Munich to found and lead Linde Advanced Operations Services – LAOS, a business unit developing, selling, implementing, and maintaining AI powered Predictive Diagnostic, Advanced Automation and Real Time Optimization solutions and providing consulting for Remote & Autonomous Operations.
2026 I left Linde to pursue my passion to drive autonomous operations of process plants using AI based control & real-time optimization, working directly with operators, plant licensors and AI software companies as independent consultant & advisor.
